In relation a hearing at Livingston Sheriff Court on 31st JANUARY 2018 (LIV-B560-17), Sheriff Edington confirmed that there was a distinction between the living man and a fiction.

When confronted with a man who had presented his Common Law Birth Certificate and who had claimed common law jurisdiction, Sheriff Edington confirmed that the court did not have any personal jurisdiction over the living man.
